5 Things You Must Do to Convey Your Personal Brand To Someone Who Doesnt Yet Know You - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / 5 Things You Must Do to Convey Your Personal Brand To Someone Who Doesn’t Yet Know You - Introvert Whisperer 5 Things You Must Do to Convey Your Personal Brand To Someone Who Doesn’t Yet Know You If you are a job seeker, you already know the challenges you face trying to get the attention of hiring managers for both your resume and you.  For the most part, we have to rely heavily on our resume or LinkedIn profile to bubble to the top and dazzle. No matter how you magically attract the hiring manager to you, the challenges is to quickly and powerfully distinguish yourself.  You need to convey your personal brand to stand out and be memorable. Use the Right Amount You want to think about your Personal Brand like the seasoning to a meal. (Tweet this!)  The seasoning is the thing that transforms an entrée from plain to Italian or Greek.  As with seasonings, you can’t be heavy-handed.  You don’t pile on an herb without dire consequences, nor do you add such a small pinch that you have accomplished nothing.  Look for opportunities to inject a word or phrase throughout your job search tools. Repetition Reinforces With items like your resume and LinkedIn profile, you want to add words and phrases in multiple forms, several times that reflect your Personal Brand.  Repetition is how we learn and the reader of your information is essentially learning about you. Word Usage Creativity The repetition you are going after is the Personal Branding concepts you want to convey but you must be cautious not to overuse any single word or phrase.  This becomes redundant and boring for the reader, who will quickly get lose interest and move on.  Let me give you an idea of how this might work. Let’s say you want to convey that you are dynamic.  Dynamic is the sort of word that isn’t overused in general but is unique enough it’s easily remembered.  If you repeated the use of that word a few times in your resume, the reader would start losing focus and quickly dump your resume.  If you check the dictionary, you find the following words associated with “Dynamic”: vigorous, energetic, aggressive, assertive and forceful.  Any or all of those words could be used to help reinforce the idea that you are a dynamic person.  You can use different words to keep it interesting to read and still portray your Personal Branding idea. You do frequently see a list of overused and meaningless words. (My personal pet peeve phrase is “people person”, seriously? What does that mean?)  I suggest that if you are working to strongly brand your job search materials, you find some of these lists so you can avoid the use of those words. Consistency Everywhere, All the Time Although your resume and LinkedIn profile is the main thing you need to stamp with your Personal Brand, you have other things you need to pay attention to in this process.  Everything that represents you must be consistent and in alignment with the picture you are portraying.  You never know what someone will look at to make a quick assessment about you.  Here are some of the additional things you need to pay attention to for portraying your Personal Branding: Business cards All social media Your elevator speech The items on this list don’t have enough space to allow you to portray much more than one Personal Branding idea.  That’s ok because you have to remember that the people that don’t know you will still learn a few things about your Personal Brand from one sentence. Your Job Interview We don’t always think about our job interview as a place to reinforce our Personal Brand, but what you say about yourself speaks volumes.  No one can guess what you bring to the party; you have to fold in your Personal Branding as you respond to various questions. The interview is more than just your qualifications; it’s about you as a person and future co-worker. If you repeat your Personal Branding concepts across all of the various platforms you use and are consistent with everything a hiring manager reviews, you will be more than a piece of paper or a job title.  You will be a person they want working for them. Go to top Personal Branding starts with how well you speak about YOU.   I want to help you accelerate your career by connecting you with your Free Instant Access to my eBook â€" The Definitive Guide to Creating and Using an Elevator Speech.   In this guide, I give you simple to follow instructions for creating a “wardrobe” of ways to talk about you â€" to leave a lasting impression.   Get your copy now: CLICK HERE Brought to you by Dorothy Tannahill-Moran â€" dedicated to unleash your professional potential. Translation Card Game

Translation Card Game By Derivative work: RodelarOriginal: User: André Costa (WMSE) Own work based on: Translation A till Ã…-colours.svg, CC0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=55643225 English has borrowed 60% of its vocabulary from French over the centuries. Some words have entered English almost unchanged. Some loanwords are unrecognizable. Some words look the same in both languages but are used in different ways. False Cognates These false-friends or faux-amis are often referred to as false-cognates, from the Latin co  for together and natus for born. These words were born together, but have gone their separate ways ever since. Examples abound. Heres one. Réunion is a plain old meeting in French, but a reunion is a special kind of get-together for people who have been apart for many years. The two words look and sound similar, but they are not translations of each other.   Learning about false-cognates can be extremely boring if presented as a list of translation facts to memorize. However, turn false-cognates into a translation card game, and students will love every minute of the lessonteaching and correcting each other, laughing and smiling the whole time. English-French Translation Card Game To help my students with the confusion produced by false-cognates, I have created a test, a chart and translation card game. We’d be doing you an injustice. In fact, our love for math is just like piâ€"irrational, constant and infinite in nature. Every year on March 14th, math lovers around the world celebrate Pi Day. Pi is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constantâ€"the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameterâ€"which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize. Pi Day provides the perfect excuse for incorporating math into all aspects of the day and what better way to celebrate than with these “Pi-Themed” Activities! Enjoy Pi-Themed Foods. For your younger children, take them into the kitchen to explore circumference, diameter and fractions by making pizza pie or a dessert pie of any kind. And let’s be honest, this activity is fun for all ages. Your older kids may like making a pie in the shape of Pi or adding the symbol to any circular treat. Play Pi-Themed Games. Pi games are not only fun, but will also improve your child’s understanding of Pi. Conduct a Pi Day scavenger hunt by hiding Pi-themed objects around the house. The objects can even represent the numbers of Pi. For the older kids, have a memorization contest with a prize for the winner. And even the youngest mathematician can participate in the games with the making of a Pi paper chain. Different colored paper strips are paired with numbers (e.g., red with two, blue with four). The strips are then linked in the order of Pi. The chain can be as long or short as you want it. Calculate Pi. Have your child cut out circles of different sizes. They can even trace popular circular household items. Have them measure the diameter and circumference of each circle and see if they can calculate Pi. Israel and Hamas Agree to a Ceasefire Brokered by Egypt and U.S.

Israel and Hamas Agree to a Ceasefire Brokered by Egypt and U.S. United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr announce ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.Egypt, Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.(AP Photo/Egyptian State Television) After eight days of conflict, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire.  The conflict began with Israel, citing rockets frequently being fired into southern Israel from Gaza, assassinating the leader of Hamas military wing,  Ahmed Said Khalil al-Jabari. The Israel Defense Forces, or IDF, then posted a ten second video  of the pinpoint strike on YouTube and tweeted the video on their Twitter account, @IDFSpokesperson. In response to this Hamas military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades tweeted back @idfspokesperson  Our blessed hands will reach your leaders and soldiers wherever they are (You Opened Hell Gates on Yourselves). This prompted a war of words to be waged on Twitter alongside the real conflict. As the fighting went on, hope was fading that an escalation into all out ground war could be avoided. President Obama, who, along with Hilary Clinton, was on a diplomatic tour of Asia, was in frequent contact with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and newly elected Egyptian President, Mohammed Morsi, via telephone stressing the importance of  deescalation. It is important to note that the United States did not deal directly with Hamas because Hamas is recognized as a terrorist organization. Instead, Morsi was tasked with dealing directly with Hamas because he is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood party, the  progenitor of the Hamas organization. The first large scale international conflict in the region since the beginning of the Arab Spring, all eyes were on Morsi to see how he would act in such a situation. President Obama had expressed a degree of apprehension about Morsi in September during an interview with telemundo saying  the U.S. would not consider Egypt an ally, but we dont consider them an enemy. On Tuesday, the 20th of November, Secretary of State Clinton left Obama to finish out his diplomatic tour alone so she could fly to the Middle East and help reach some agreement. After a whirlwind of meetings, Clintons shuttle diplomacy payed off and a deal was struck. Both sides called the agreement a victory  with Israel citing elimination of strategic targets and an impressive debut of their Iron Dome missle defense system and Hamas citing assurances of a slackening of the five-year Israeli blockade of Gaza. Tensions between the two countries have not cooled in the slightest. How then was a ceasefire agreement reached so swiftly? Egypts new Muslim Brotherhood President provided a new diplomatic connection to Hamas that had not existed before. Morsi was able to  liaise with Hamas while Clinton spoke with Netanyahu. Clinton and Morsi were then able to work together to finalize the agreement. The ceasefire is only the beginning however. Ceasefires have been made and broken between Israel and Gaza before. If they want a longer lasting peace theyre going to have to come together and talk about their goals and demands. The situation in the Middle East continues to be tenuous despite this ceasefire, with President Morsi giving himself new power over the courts in Egypt.

5 Ways to Keep Self-Esteem High During Summer School

5 Ways to Keep Self-Esteem High During Summer School Costa Mesa Tutor Tips: 5 Ways to Keep Self-Esteem High During Summer School Many children can benefit from an academically focused summer school program that will make their overall educational experience easier and more productive. Unfortunately, most children dont see summer school as a benefit. Rather, they see it as something they have to do because they didnt receive passing grades during the year. There are several things parents and teachers can do to help younger kids keep their self-esteem high while they attend a summer school program. Of course, every child is unique, and their situations will vary from that of their peers and neighbors, but there are several positive things about summer school in general. 1. Become an expert Kids who fell behind in a difficult subject during the school year may not be feeling great about their abilities to become an expert. However, participating in a summer school program can help kids improve in that same subject during the next school year. Summer school provides an opportunity for kids to focus on just that one subject that gave them trouble so they can overcome any content or study skills issues. Once students have a chance to understand truly whats going on with reading, math, or any other challenging subject their self-esteem is likely to get higher (READ: 10 reasons you need a summer tutor). 2. Leave academic struggles behind In many cases, children attend summer school because they are having some overall academic struggles as opposed to difficulty in a specific subject. If this is the case, the summer school instructor may focus on study skills and organization across all topics. Kids dont get a chance to take a class in study skills but are expected to master these things on their own. This can make it very difficult for kids with any concentration or motivation issue to ace every class. Academic summer programs provide a great opportunity for kids to work with a dedicated teacher and develop some study skills that work for them as an individual. 3. Work with a private Costa Mesa tutor in a one-on-one setting Another thing students can do to help keep their self-esteem high during summer school is to work one-on-one with a private tutor. Many kids struggle with either reading or math and need a little bit of extra help. A private tutor can serve as an excellent supplement to a summer school program because they can provide useful repetition of a challenging subject and introduce new concepts at a pace that works for the student. When a student isnt overly stressed out about a particular subject theyre more likely to feel great about the subject and school in general. 4. Allow time for fun activities Many kids dont like summer school because they think it will take time away from fun activities and time with friends. If a child can benefit from summer school, they should attend, but they should also have plenty of fun activities scheduled, so they dont miss out on some relaxation and outdoor time. If kids know that theyre going to have plenty of time to have fun with friends in the neighborhood they will be more likely to give summer school a chance and concentrate on improving their academic skills. 5. Prevent isolation A lot of the time, students feel isolated if they have to attend summer school. However, there are tons of kids attending summer academic programs these days. With increased competition, many students simply attend summer school to get ahead. They may want to apply for a scholarship later on or participate in academic competitions. If children know that there are tons of students attending summer programs, they are less likely to feel isolated. As long as theyre part of a group, summer school wont seem so bad (READ: 5 Reasons to get an in-home tutor this summer). Metal Spatula Chemistry - Learn More About Metal

Metal Spatula Chemistry - Learn More About MetalWhen I started studying metal spatulas, I was thinking of improving my ability to grasp the concepts taught by Chemistry. This also enhanced my own Metal Spatula Skills. Through the course of teaching and lab work, I am now very familiar with the basic structure and composition of metal. Not only that, I know more about these metals and their properties, so now it is just a matter of identifying my needs and using my Metal Spatula Skill to fulfill them. For now, you needn't worry if you are not really familiar with Metal. There are many resources that you can find in the Internet for this. The first thing you need to do is to use your imagination and discover the structure and composition of these metals. Based on your results, you can either convert the contents into a mixture or physical forms of the metals, while studying the metal spatulas in the form of its physical form. It is advised that you get involved in the projects so that y ou will be able to master them more effectively. In addition, when you are studying Metal Spatulas, the topic may not give you too much trouble, but it could give you some nightmares as well. For example, when it comes to the metal composition, you need to learn what can it do for you and what it should be used for. This is usually known as Metal Chemistry. How to understand it? When you study this subject, you need to first understand how an element can combine with another element. You have to know how metals are stable and non-stability depending on their chemical composition. You have to know the atoms used in metals. If you are not an expert, you need to brush up your Metal Spatula Chemistry, so that you can use your knowledge to your advantage. On another point, when it comes to the working of metal, you must remember that metals are also elements and the chemical composition of these metals is like that of element. One must be an expert in this field to become successful in this subject. If you are looking for guidance in this field, you may look for resources online. The Internet has a lot of resources that you can use to help you learn metal chemistry. The advantage of the Internet is that you can get advice from experts as well as experts' students. So if you wish to learn Metal Chemistry, you must be aware of the elements used and the characteristics of each element in metal. Through studying your Metal Spatula, you must be sure that you have done all the details. A question comes in when you wish to mix the metals together to make one metal or the other, do you know which type of metal is more stable?Remember that metals are naturally stable. They are highly reactive. If you have mixed together two metals and will try to measure their reactions, then you must be sure that both metals are highly reactive. If one of them is a type of metal, it is referred to as a reactive metal. When one metal reacts with the other, the resultant metal can act more diffi cult than the two metals.

Swap Chem and Chemistry Final Exams

Swap Chem and Chemistry Final ExamsBiology is often the last thing to get into when you are taking your Chemistry finals. It's not quite as far ahead as Chemistry, but its very close, especially if you're doing your Chemistry first semester, even if you're doing both at the same time. It's definitely something to plan around, especially if you want to take the exams with the other class. If this is the case, and you've done your homework in choosing which class to take, I'd like to suggest a different method for taking Chem and Chemistry finals. Find out which class you're getting credit for, and then, for that term, elective electives or credits that you want to take will be assigned to it. For example, if you want to take Physics, go to the Physics test instead of the Chemistry test. This can save you a lot of time - since you don't have to waste time studying for two separate tests, you'll have more time to study for your Physics test, and it'll pay off in your final grade. Plus, yo u'll have to do it more often, which means you'll have more practice doing it properly. It can also make your notes easier to study - you don't have to spend so much time trying to memorize the answers to the tests, which should only happen with Biology. You may find that it's difficult to figure out which test you want to take, since there are so many exams and too many tests to try to choose just one. However, there's always the option of selecting to take a whole set of Chemistry exams. (If you do, make sure that you understand them well, so that you don't leave anything out in the notes)One thing to be aware of - even though you're going to have to switch subjects, you shouldn't have to switch your exams to one of your old subjects. It's often suggested that you should do this if you've already taken chemistry as a prerequisite, but that doesn't make sense. You'll only change one part of your final grade, and therefore you should take the exam to the class that you want. For Biolo gy, the exams are all similar, so you don't need to worry about switching subjects. In fact, if you do change your biology exam, I would recommend keeping it the same, and just adding it to your Chemistry exam. You'll need to start with Chemistry if you're doing it all at once, and you'll need to stay with Chemistry until the end of your exams. To be honest, I did not do this when I was doing my Chemistry exams. In fact, I didn't even do it in the last year that I took them all at once!
